The City of Coronado, in collaboration with the Avenue of Heroes Committee, will be hosting a heartwarming ceremony to celebrate a fantastic milestone—the 10th anniversary of the Avenue of Heroes Military Recognition Program. A Year of Celebration and Recognition
Can you believe it’s been ten years since the Avenue of Heroes program started? Since its inception in 2014, nearly 300 veterans and active-duty service members have been recognized for their incredible service. Celebrating Heroes with Style
Of course, we all love a good display, don’t we? Banners will be proudly displayed along Coronado’s Avenue of Heroes from May through November. This stretch runs along Third and Fourth streets, starting from Orange Avenue all the way to the Naval Air Station North Island. Each banner will serve as a visual reminder of the sacrifices made by these remarkable individuals and will keep the spirit of honor alive throughout the community.
A Collaborative Effort
This initiative didn’t just pop up overnight; it is the fruit of a strong partnership that includes the City of Coronado, the VFW Post 2422, the Third and Fourth Streets Neighborhood Association, and the Coronado Historical Association.
