The Coronado Islanders boys’ golf program wrapped up a week filled with ups and downs, finishing with a record of 1-1. The team faced a tough challenge as they went up against St. Augustine High School. The Islanders had a rough day on the greens and ended up losing the match with a score of 189-213. Diego Vargas led the charge, scoring the lowest individual round at two over par, followed by Connor Wray and Ben Merrill with scores of 41 and 43 respectively. Freshman David Saul managed a round of 46, while Santiago Armenta shot a respectable 45. It was a tough match, but the boys’ spirits remained high.
